SEASON INFORMATION During the course of a league there are some factors that will stay relatively the same day-to-day, week-in and week-out, season-to-season. However there are other variables, like the changing number of teams in each division, that prevents South Valley Volleyball to declare with 100% certainty that a league will follow the previous season formats. These unpredictable features may affect the number of practices throughout the season, round-robin play and playoffs. Once we know how many teams we have in each division we will announce that seasons format. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
Length SUMMER LEAGUE: The 2009 summer league will run approximately 6 weeks. Games and practices will be conducted at El Camino Real H.S. in Woodland Hills. FALL LEAGUE: The 2009 Fall league will run approximately 6 weeks. WINTER LEAGUE: The 2009 Winter league will run approximately 6 weeks, from January 25 - March 15. SPRING LEAGUE: The 2009 Spring league will run approximately 6 weeks, from March 29- June 28. Days Practice and Game days are Sundays. Times For all divisions practice and game times may start as early as 11:00 a.m. and will end by 1:30 p.m. One match usually takes approximately 50 minutes. Matches Winter, Spring & Fall teams will play a best of 3 match. We use rally scoring, sets (games) are scored to 25, third set to 15, teams must win by 2. Sets and matches may be shortened if time becomes an issue. Summer leagues will use a slightly different format where teams may possibly play 3 matches in one day. Please know that seasonal holidays may affect the length of the season and that South Valley Volleyball staff reserves the right to change or alter days, times and the game/match format as they see fit.
DIVISIONS We are currently offering a Minor division for girls and boys ages 8 - 12 years old and a Major/Junior division for girls and boys ages 13 - 18. These divisions were established to accomodate the varying ages and varying skill levels of the participants within the limited time and facilities that we have. During the different seasons throughout the school year division ages and grades may change to assist with enrollment registration. Players scheduled to move up a division may be moved at the sole discretion of the coaching staff and program directors. Please read our DISCLAIMER.

RULES South Valley Volleyball Leagues follow the CIF rules with a few exceptions and in house rules, such as allowing players to serve within the court. One of our goals is for players to be successful by adapting to the different skill levels and their abilities. In the interest of continuous play and the learning benefits, officials will make calls based on the skill level of the division, team and athlete and the effect it has on the play. All calls are final and are not subject to protest.

Have them write your name on their application in the "REFERED BY" box. 3. Receive a $5.00 South Valley Gift Certificate good for future leagues. Bring 1 and earn $5.00 or bring 100 and earn $500.00 toward your next program with South Valley Unlimited Referrals Allowed Until League Is Full!

DISCLAIMER Ultimately South Valley Volleyball Association wants to ensure that every player is safe, having fun and participating at a level where they can learn at their own pace yet are still being challenged. We recognize that the grade divisions are not the ONLY determining factor for the placement of a child in regards to specific divisions. Additional factors such as size, height, coordination, reaction time, physical and emotional development as well as acquired volleyball skills and abilities all contribute to the grouping/ranking/placement of individual players. South Valley Volleyball Association reserves the right to adjust division grades, combine divisions and/or move individual players to appropriately accommodate league play. Additionally South Valley Volleyball Association reserves the right to change anything related to their programs without prior notice.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE The South Valley Volleyball goal is to accommodate every individual who is interested in participating in our programs.
